So, basically, you're saying that the government is the only one that needs the guns? This is the exact opposite purpose for which the 2nd Amendment was created.

it's not that large on any scale - it is the largest state population wise, and yet it's on the verge of insolvency - unless of course it gets bailed out too

I do understand bad guys get guns either way. So what, that what cops are for. If you think your house is at constant risk to break in, move somewhere else or install a house alarm. That's why I work my butt off so that I can buy a place that's safe for my family.
