un-freakin-believable. The cop should be arrested for (at a minimum) manslaughter. With today's communication technology there is no possible way for a car to get away in a chase situation (you can't drive faster than a radio, sorry guys), so there's no POSSIBLE excuse for pulling stupid crap like that. Just gives me more reasons to not EVER visit the south.

Um......isn't there supposed to be something in the manual that says to not do the pit manuver when the shoulder dips down into areas that are full of trees, into water, or on an overpass or something? I'm sure there's a speed where it can and can't be done, but is there something about the right conditions i.e. the guesstimated stopping point of the vehicle?

If the woman had learned anything from her dmv manual, she might have reacted the way some people react in a spin-out situation: countersteer, which would have pointed her suv in the direction of oncoming traffic. I wouldn't even go as far as to say learning it from a book, to a lot of people when you don't want to go right, you steer left.

Are you freakin hippies kidding me? You hope there is a lawsuit?!!@#!@$ That's what is wrong with the world today. People take NO PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for their actions.

Criminals that put that many other motorists in danger deserve what they get. That cop should get a commendation.

Same with stupid people who come after cops with broken bottles or tiny knives. Blast 'em all.

i'm with mexicanpizza on this. Yes it was stupid for the cop to use that pit manuever at that rate of speed especially since it was a suv. but to have him get a lawsuit and loose his job over this is stupid. They ran from the police and had every chance to stop.

blast em all? your an idiot :

lets change the variables, say this car was hijacked and the passenger was the drivers 6 yr old kid, who was scared and panicing to death...

and the driver then runs from the cops, same thing happens where the dumbass cop pit's the car and both die,

whats your response to that? the cops couldn't have possibly known who was in the passenger seat, this was a huge mistake...dont know whats so hard for you to see

Those weren't the circumstances. And I know the cops wouldn't PIT the car then.

And if you're going to call me an idiot, it's "you're".

Let's see how you'd feel if the cops backed off, and then the stupid ho crashed into your family and killed them all. Then you'd sue the cops.

I agree that the passenger could have been "innocent" but life isn't fair.

Wow, I can't believe this, but I'm actually going to have to side with MP on this one.
