Oh...

I forgot to mention...(just noticed on the trip home)...

at lower elevations, for some reason I don't have boost creep (which ALSO wasn't there before), I have boost JUMP!!

Shiv tuned it for a max of 16.2 lbs. of boost...

Tonight I saw it holding at 18.x...

Something's jacked the F*** up!! We reset the ECU, and cleaned the boost control pill, but for some reason, that didn't work.

How could I-speed jacked that up, you ask?? Well, they had to reset computer codes (CEL's) that came up from the transmission issue...

I don't know WTF happened there, but this Forester is going to have to go see Adam (who I never caught a glimpse of at Rim), and then go see Shiv...

If this costs us installing the new JDM Forester transmission... I think I'll deliver the old one to I-speed...through their F***ing window!!

the boost spike most likely has nothing to do with the tranny portion of things. Who knows about hte boost psike, i would check all the vacum lines and crap like that..

if everything checks out and you are still boosting harder then normal i would take it in somewhere to have it looked at.. what is handling your boost control? ecutek?

And resetting some cels shouldnt effect the boosting on the car.. unless they went in and changed the boost control a bit... (which i highly doubt, that and they would have charged you for that...)

Any slipping of the auto? or is it just whine?

Ecutek is handling the boost control, no MBC or any other crazy stuff. I'm not convinced they're responsible for the boost spikes either; I don't like to make someone a scapegoat if things haven't been properly checked out yet, but it sure wasn't behaving like that before. At first we thought the ECU may have been confused because of elevation changes (6k ft. to sea level within a few hours), but we did a reset on the way home and it seemed like it was creeping right back up into KABOOM territory...

The diff whine is very distinctly noticeable under hard acceleration, but we haven't noticed any slipping of the AT.

We're taking the FXT to LIC tonight and Adam will take a look.

Hmm...

Lessons on how to look good, while making someone else look bad.

Take a car that has been tuned by another shop, switch a few lines of code in the ECUTek, and make the engine grenade. Makes us look at Shiv askew, and...

I'm not SAYING that's what happened, but strange how all these things just "happen" after it's been on this dyno. Kind of like the "whine" that started RIGHT AFTER we got off the dyno. Sort of like the strange things that happened after I took my SVX somewhere (other than LIC) for service. Won't happen again.

We also cleaned the boost restrictor "pill", thinking that the mud that got splashed around might have something to do with it. Hasn't helped yet.

I'll reserve final judgement until we see how much damage has been done to the Forester.

cuz it puts the blame on Shiv, like he's a shoddy tuner (which he is most def NOT).

All speed is good speed except for i-speed.

Saw the dynoasspack in action. Looks like I-Speed Fu cked up some more cars this weekend at RIM. Me and james were laughing about how all the AWD cars we saw on there dyno were making rediculous and frankly proposters numbers in all departments. Saw a dammn near stock STi put down numbers that decently modded STi's werent even putting down.

maybe some people like slow cars to stay out of trouble with the law??

maybe some people want a blown motor to have an excuse to buy a JDM motor???
