Oil Change Question for Infrequently Driven Car

Did a search but didn’t find any answer in the general forum.

I usually put up 1500 to 2500 miles every 6 months on my ’04 STi because I drive a ’96 Impreza as my daily commute. How often should I change the oil? Since I don’t drive much, I usually change oil (Mobil 1) at least every 6 months. Is this the right approach?

Thanks.

low-mileage cars should get the oil changed at least every 6 months to 1 year IMHO, so what you're doing is good.

Just make sure to drive the car around and get the oil up to temp every few weeks. That will boil away any condensation in the crankcase. Other than that, just change it every 6 to 12 months as stated.

Thanks for the feedbacks. I'll just continue oil change every 6 months then.
