Agreed; pics or it didn't happen .
It's API SM rated, which is a gas engine spec only. Why would they go for an SM rating if they did not intend it to be used in gas engines (adds test/mfg, burden, etc.)? And the no-turbo angle is no good either: most diesel trucks are turbo.

*sigh*
Ok first off, for all the people using T6, you should NOT be using it. Even shell has said its not for use in gas turbo motors. They don't market it for our motors, they market to the diesel crowd. Yes I understand its rated for our motors, but the manufacture says no.
I myself am using Castro Edge(formerly syntec) 5W30 in my engine, and have from day one of the build.
Also remember, filter is KEY, the OEM filter is not enough for a higher performance engine unless you are changing out things more often (like 3000 on the button). I would recommend on a personal level, the K&N filter.

no.
first of all...the k&n filter is just all wrong....it has the wrong by-pass pressure to start with...
rotella t6 is approved for gas engines.....carries all the necessary ratings and approvals and that is THAT
the t6 and the 0w40 M1 are the 2 best bets for inexpensive oil that will work fine for 99.9% of all of us
oh yeah

2)No, again T6, as stated by the manufacture is not for use on catted gas motors, its a DIESEL oil. For **** sake kid, RTFM. (or in this case the manufacture data sheet) Yes it passed the "rating system" for gas engines, that doesn't mean its designed for them.

anyways, I am switching over to amsoil or motul next oil change, I have been running the castro edge 5w-30 but while I find no oil burn, I am not 100% sure on its quality so I am going to edge away from it.
