I'd go with the RS3 Version 2. They still have amazing grip like the old compound but work at lower temperatures and I've heard that they do a lot better than the old compound in the wet too.

You're more likely to overheat the RSR's and Z2's. I hate to admit it, but the RSR's are good. However, that's only been shown by a few fast people in lighter cars, so far. They also wear out really fast from autox. The Z2's have been proven to be good all around tires, but they don't like being over driven.

I don't know anyone using the RT615K's. The major tires are Z2's, RS3's, and Rivals. There are a few of the FRS/BRZ CS guys using the AD08R's. That's it.

Yeah, now that I think about it, the only people I know using the RSRs are BRZ/FRS drivers.

Not a huge issue since I'm looking for a set of autocross wheels/tires.

I had RT615s on my ZX2 and loved them, but checking out what else is out there.

Thanks for the input. Anyone else?

I feel like the Falkens used to be super popular. There are still a few people who AutoX on them. They're usually resto-mods though.

It seems like most people are on Dunlop this year. But I think that's more because it was difficult to get Hankooks earlier this year. I haven't noticed a lot of people sticking with the BFGs though.

I have Dunlops and I like them. I also daily them and I recently got a water sprayer for them.

Got a codriver? Will race in winter?

I love RS3s... But if it's 60F day in Oct, they don't work that great. Hard to heat up. With a codriver they are great.

Gagan, that's the old RS3. The RS3 Version 2 isn't the same. The Version 2 works A LOT better at lower temps. All RS3's made this year are the Version 2. Benny did the first run on the RS3 Version 2 at Marina in the morning and they worked well.

Ah. I just missed them then. Mine were closeout and made in Nov last year I think.

Kinda excited to see how they do at a hot Crows event vs Takeshi on his Dunlop's. I know he sprays but Atwater experience for me was no amount of spraying on 90+ days in the central valley over came the eventual heat issues such tires bring.

I will have my sprayer as well, but mainly for the intercooler.

^ Talk to Mark Scroggs. He's on the old RS3 compound, and the Pro Solo at Crows was high 90's to low 100's. His tires were very happy. It's supposed to be in the low 90's for the tour. FYI, the surface is more aggressive than Marina's surface.

Wow... They split the work/run groups across the whole day. Interesting.

What if the cooler just says "BEER!" on it?

It'll probably happen in people's motorhomes/trailers for those staying on site. Or like the rest of us, in restaurants or hotels.

^ I assume the RS3 Version 2 will overheat faster than the old compound, just because the Version 2 is meant to work at lower temperatures. My co-driver and I haven't overheated them yet. At the Pro Solo, you're not allowed to water down the tires while you're doing your runs, and hottest part of the day reached mid 100's. We saw 135 degrees in the front tires and we didn't notice a drop off. The RS3 Version 2 will still be better than the Z2 and Rivals in hot weather.
