Rumor has it that Mike Shanahan or Chip Kelly, I'm down, even Holmgren, question is, will the front office not suck *** and get uncomfortable?

I don't know if Baalke and/or Jed can handle a coach who's going to want more control and that certainly seems like something any of those candidates would require. Time will tell but I'm not holding my breath.

Yea I could totally see some arguing up top with draft picks.

I would honestly be totally happy with Chip Kelly. We know now we aren't going to be good for a couple years. Our defense is a mess and our o-line is terrible. I would be curious if they keep Kaep if we net Kelly. I could see them just drafting o-line and cornerbacks in the draft for one year. Seems like we should be building the team before ruining some young quarterback with no support

but what do I know lol

Gotta get over the Seattle and Arizona hump, definitely Thumpers in the NFC. I expect them and the Panthers (notice here all 3 have defense) with Panthers/Cards going to the Superbowl. They also have offense! (Russell Wilson is literally playing backyard football, and he's decent at it which is amazing).

AFC is gonna be the fun playoffs, NFC, not so much. I just hope Cam/Palmer/Manning get this one. Andy Dalton mediocrely getting one too.

1) I can't stand the Seahawks
2) Brady has too many

Pittsburgh needs to slow down with their 6 too, albeit I'm excited to see Antonio Brown running around in the playoffs.

Best quote during Jed's craptastic interview.

"8-8 and 5-11, neither one of them is acceptable to me. I'd rather take a swing like we did on Jimmy T and if you miss, the nice thing about the NFL is they reward you for missing. We have a high draft pick and that's the thing that I don't want to be drafting high, but if we don't compete for championships, I'd much rather be drafting high and be able to add the top-tier talent in the draft to this roster.
LoL, yet you won the last game. Good job!

-which, if Kelly came here, Kaep would be right up his alley.

Yeah, that's why I think it's going to be difficult to attract another big name lots-of-experience coach who's used to having almost total control. Hell, Kelly was just handed that in Philly and look where that got him. I really have zero confidence in this sh*tshow right now. Hopefully they'll prove me/us/everyone wrong but with Jed at the helm and Baalke steering the ship I think they're far more likely to hit the iceberg.

Sean Payton or Chip Kelly would be good. I don't know about Shanahan. I heard they are trying for Hue Jackson as well. I hear good things about him, apparently got the shaft when he was at Oakland.

Does Kaep really still have a big ego? I keep hearing that but it seems like the past 1.5 years he's just been silent in interviews and social media. Outside of wearing the beats headphones he's just another young hip dude with weird style I don't think i've heard him spew things like he's the best qb ever or whatever.

Kaep works hard, not much you can say about that. Blames himself when the team sucks, just doesn't do interviews that are... comfortable.

which is... fine I guess? Maybe it's just the appearance that people turn into a negative thing? Like tall ripped dude who wears his hat backwards and has tattoos? I guess he carries himself a certain way but he seems to say the right things at least of late

If you can't tell I think we shouldn't move on him ha

^He just doesn't say anything.

His gameplay isn't the best, this is true and I think he's still trying to figure out what makes him good. His reads are slow, but so are R. Wilson's but he's got a knack of escaping and extending vs Kaepernick (can escape, but doesn't extend passing well) I think the NFL just figured him out. Wilson I think the NFL figured out too, but he does so good at backyard football and waitin' for a receiver to pop open he's still deadly.

I keep hearing that "They've figured him out". The blame for that argument falls squarely on the shoulders of the QB Coach / Offensive Coordinator. It is on the Coaching Staff to make adjustments to the play calling (which this staff seemed to be completely incapable of doing or decided not to do).

Honestly.. I never completely bought the hype on either of them. Wilson has the better long term abilities because he's smarter and surrounded by a better team. All he really is is a slightly more athletic Jeff Garcia.

CK7... I don't think it's a matter of figuring him out... even though that's true. But the OC is supposed to fix that issue. One thing is that he's a pure running QB. Those guys just don't last long EFFECTIVELY in the NFL. Even Randle had his issues and he had a much higher football IQ.

I think with CK7 that he's as athletically gifted as any QB ever has been. He works his butt off. He's tried to speed up his release and worked hard on his reads. But some folks just don't have it there. With the right coach will he have a better chance... maybe. If that's the case... I hope the niners bring in Payton.

As for Hue... he was quality. He wasn't given the time he deserved. He'd be a good coach too.

Kelly... I don't buy him in the NFL. I just don't. Maybe with the browns or the cowboys. But even then... for how long? He's a college coach. That style of play does not have long term effectiveness or Super Bowl effectiveness. It just doesn't. Generally speaking it's just sound complete football that wins long term. His teams are not going to bring that. They're gonna bring 50 point games and 5 turn over blow outs. But that's just me. Don't buy the hype.

Wilson has proven me wrong for the most part but talk to me in a few more years. If he's smart he'll run less. Guys that CAN run but use it wisely are far more effective long term. And have more than a few great years.
