Exclamation Nov 5th - send a message to the banks

Want to get the scumbag banking industry's attention... here's how.

The basic idea: on November 5th remove all of your money from your for profit bank and deposit in a non-profit credit union.
Tired of the fees, the bailouts, the illegal shifting of bad investments to FDIC insured accounts (Bank of America...)
Screw-em, don't let these jerks play with your money anymore.
Banks can't make money without your deposits to lend out. Send a message with your dollars.

I will personally recommend Star One Credit Union in Santa Clara County. But there are lots of other good ones around.

No, not really. The next day everybody buys the gas they would've bought the day before. In this case people don't opening a new account with the bank they just left.

While the Bank Transfer Day movement acknowledges the enthusiasm from Anonymous and Occupy Wall Street, the Bank Transfer Day movement was neither inspired by, derived from nor organized by Anonymous or the Occupy Wall Street movement, and the Bank Transfer Day movement does not endorse any activities conducted by Anonymous or Occupy Wall Street.

FOR MORE INFO: Bank Transfer Day | Facebook

Together we can ensure that these banking institutions will ALWAYS remember the 5th of November!! If the 99% removes our funds from the major banking institutions to non-profit credit unions on or by this date, we will send a clear message to the 1% that conscious consumers won't support companies with unethical business practices.

• Research your local credit union options
• Open an account with the one that best suits your needs
• Cancel all automatic withdrawals & deposits
• Transfer your funds to the new account
• Follow your bank's procedures to close your account before 11/05

USA: Welcome to CU National Finder
CANADA: Credit Union Central of Canada
UK: Mutual Financial Services - Find Your Credit Union
As previously stated this is really nothing like the buying gas thing...
Banks make money by lending out your deposits. If people pull their accounts, even for a day, the banks stand to loose millions of dollars. The banking industry has forgotten who they serve. It's time to remind them.

Wife and I were talking about switching a few weeks ago after the BOA blunder (we dont have BOA, but still use one of the top 5 large US banks).

Going to be switching on the 5th.

I'm not sure of any non-profit credit unions in my area... I like my pnc bank, for the most part.

I hope they aren't helping the wallstreet protests, lazy ****s.

Guy was *****ing about being a welder the other day on the news and asking why he can't make 60$ an hour welding. Well dip**** if you wanna make that much go to school for diving and then go get your underwater welding cert and make 70-300k a year as an independent contractor for oil rigs.

Over half them dumbasses in ny are in a pickle because they put themselves there. You don't see my dumbass in college because at the moment I don't feel like going in to 40k worth of debt to get out making about 50-80k a year. Sometimes you have to stick with what you have and not roll the damn dice, something those jackasses didn't realize.
/rant

Now wtf was anon *****ing about

You forgot that piece of paper you signed that stated that 'this institution holds the right to deny you your money' or some such legal lingo.

So if people started doing this they could freeze all accounts across the nation to keep in business. Thank you .fed for giving banks this power.
