Soundwave,

that sounds pretty good to me. i assume that there is some sort of coffee shop or something at the great mall where i can grab a cup to wake up -- i'm typically not much of a morning person. i think that there was another South Bay resident thinking of heading up for the drive too, so there might be three of us.

Rich,

if you're making pace notes, are you going to reccomend that we bring co-drivers on this one?

no no no, No co-pilots/drivers. It's more or less for my own pleasure. Plus it's nice if everyone knows how long it's going to take and how many miles. If there is bathroom breaks etc...

Don - Yeah, there's a Starbucks around there. Or we can just meet @ the Starbucks on Brokaw Rd... it's close to 101/880/680.

If that's cool, I'll post the address/map.

Rich - Can you post the address of the meet up location? Also, is there a gas station close by where we're meeting? us south bay guys will def. need to fill up before.

actually, the Statbucks on Brokaw sounds better than meeting at the great mall. that way i can grab a cup of coffee for the ride up so that i'm awake by the time we get there.

Bushido-

Im thinkin more along the lines of tarmac for me. Just to let you know....also, I have the front dropped pretty far so I dunno if it would be the greatest idea to go on dirt anyway, fun yes! but next time.

patrick i'll put you down on the Tarmac list and you''ll follow Huck at the split up point and meet up again with us in Jenner.

soundwave. I'll get you the address tomorrow. but as far as a Gas Station there isn't one very close by. But i'll give you the best places to pick up gas on the way. On the drive up you'll have to come through San Rafael. The easiest one to go to would be the SHELL station on the corner of Irwin & 2nd. right off the Highway.

1) Take Hwy 101 north till you see the Cental San Rafael / Irwin St exit.

2) The exit becomes 4 lanes. (3 that go through the first light & and 1 that turns right) Stay in the second to the right and go through light.

3) Gas Station is right on the corner. Turn (right) into station for re-fueling.

4) Turn (right) back onto Irwin (that is a one way street) and continue though 4 more lights until street ends becoming an on-ramp back onto Hwy 101 north.

5) Driving north on Hwy 101 you will see the San Pedro Rd next.
6) Then you'll see the Terra Linda / North Gate mall exit.
7) Then you'll see the Truck Scales. at that point get into the far right lane

8) Exit "Lucas Valley / Smith Ranch Rd"
9) Turn (left) at lights and go under the Hwy heading (west) on Lucas Valley

10) Ten miles later you will come to the end of the road. Turn (right) at stop sign onto "Nicasio Valley Rd"

11) About four miles at the end of the road turn (right) at stop sign onto "Point Reyes / Petaluma Rd" heading north / east.

12) shortly after you go past a small house on the (left) with a jackass in the front yard you'll see a sign saying "End of 45 mph" Less than a mile up the road the Cheese Factory will be on the (left)

I hope this helps you guys out. If you really want i could meet up with you at the Shell Station before hand. Although i live about 4 miles from Nicasio. Just let me know.

Marin French Cheese Company
7500 Red Hill Road
Petaluma, CA 94952

are these directions any good?
Directions From San Francisco -- Hwy. 101 North to Novato. Take last exit, San Marin Drive. Turn left on San Marin Drive and drive about 2 miles to Novato Blvd. At stop sign, turn right on Novato Blvd. WEST. Drive approx. 7 miles to Petaluma - Pt. Reyes Rd. Turn left and drive about 1/4 mile. We are on the right side.

ya that'll work just fine. I only thought that if you wanted to take Lucas Valley it's a nicer drive. But go ahead and use the Novato route if you feel more comfortable.
