welcome to the i-club Z-Dubs. I feel honored that you picked our little thread to post your first.
If you look back over all the pages you will notice that there will be a place where we slit off from one another (some on dirt) and (some on tarmac) then will will meet up again in Jenner.

Hey bushido, I might of forgotten to mention, I'm tarmac for sure. You guys keep talking about hoping that your tires hold up. Sounds like you guys are real maniac or something. You're worrying me about my tires now. I have Dunlop SP 9000's. I do have my stock wheels and tires if needed, though.
So, anybody from south or east bay going? Or am I 'commuting' up there on my own?

i wouldn't worry so much about tires holding up as long as you don't drive like a maniac 24/7. you're not going to burn through that much rubber on a drive like this, its only doing it a couple of times a week that tends to kill tires. your Dunlops should be fine.
that said, brakes are likely going to be the weak link on most of the cars. i've got a new set of pads going on before the drive, which i'm hoping are going to help at least a little with my brake fade issues.

of course im down for some dirt and grim
i love a dirty car !
my mom has work that day, so she wont' can't go, but i might convincer her to take it off
im 99% sure im goin. the only thing that would stop me is if i have no $ for gas. i get good hwy milage, but the minute i put the pedal to the medal, i can see the gas tank meter go down hill :/

well i do drive like a maniac 24/7 and that's why i go through tires so quickly. If you've seen me driving on one of these before that's really how i drive. I live out on the country and i work at 3:30am in the morning. So i'm use to driving hard all the time.

yeah, i know you go through tires like a madman. mine aren't exactly going to last as long as i'd hoped. that comment was mainly for crash'n'burn's benefit, since i don't think anyone will burn through a whole set of tires during the drive.
if i commuted to work during really non-peak hours on twisty back roads, i'd bet i'd get a month or two out of a set of tires tops.
