well idk how your voice command works but with mine you dont have to have any specific contact set up for the voice command...as long as they are saved under my contacts i can just say their name and home/work/cell and it calls that number.

With the amount of customers I have and the amount that come and go it's not practical for me to have a lot of them saved in my phone. A lot of times I rely on business cards or returning calls via call history.

I know it's more of a unique circumstance, but getting pulled over for even holding the phone is eventually going to get me busted for simply trying to dial out.

as it should. and if you have that many people calling while you are driving you should just be pulling over to call them.

the car isnt meant to be an office. if you have so many people calling while you are driving you dont even have a chance to turn on the radio you are way to distracted to be talking and driving anyway.

if they made it where you cant use your cell at all on the freeway that would be fine with me. i can deal with city and cell but they should ban all cell use period on the freeway if people cant find a reasonable way to dial out. hell my voice command will even let me say the number i wanna dial.

you are saying you get all these calls, then pull over real quick and dial the number. i can see if someone has to call the wife super quick, glance quickly for contacts your good. but you make it sound like you are always in your phone book or recent call log and i think that is too much eye contact off the road.

I wish they'd outlaw driving with a Starbucks in your other hand. at least if you drop your phone it doesn't spill scalding hot coffee everywhere and make the situation worse.

or McDonalds, or fresh fruit, or mother f'ing mascara......

(my point....when does it stop? I think drinking scalding hot coffee is MORE distracting....I don't do it at all (compared to talking on the phone, before this law)

Texting banned while driving

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has started to sign bills now that the budget standoff is over. The big one today is a bill that -- gasp! -- makes it illegal to text-message while driving in the Golden State.

The two laws that banned holding a cellphone to your ear and driving overlooked text messaging because the cellphone part was hard enough to get through a Legislature that has fattened itself on campaign donations from cellphone providers over the years. The public reaction to that lapse helped spur this bill, which some folk may suggest is pure common sense.

The bill was written by State Sen. Joe Simitian, who also authored the cellphone ban. First offense is $76. Schwarzenegger's comment, via press release: "Banning electronic text messaging while driving will keep drivers' hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road, making our roadways a safer place for all Californians."

I know it's wrong, but I find myself doing it sometimes. I image search for **** while I'm driving. Technology is a double edged sword. Maybe if they made it so the phones did not function over 10 MPH or something. Stupid monkeys.

I never said anything about the volume of calls I get on the freeway. But it does happen a lot. I don't know if you're familiar with the concept of outside sales, but it requires lots of driving, making it to appointments on time (i.e. not pulling over), and impatient customer calls.

Sorry if my job ruins your dream world of everyone focusing 100% on driving. It's never going to happen in this day and age. Hell, I've been rear ended by 2 teenage girls because the driver was on the phone paying no attention that she was in rush hour traffic.

I'll pay the stupid tick, if I ever get one. It's just annoying for me personally. Lucky for my I can just keep the phone in my lap when looking up numbers so 50 doesn't see it.
