This is a good thing though, too many people cause accidents while texting and driving.
Trying to text on an iPhone 3G was hard for me at first while driving, but now it's second nature, I don't even look at the screen. Oh well =(

why are we wasting money on laws that can't be enforced.
This country and especially this state wastes so much damn money on pointless laws or laws that have no purpose but to in theory get money for the state or control our lives.
Far as I'm concerned if some douche bag wants to kill themselves riding around in the back of a truck or not wearing their seat belt its their choice.
They should have passed the no texting FIRST then went after no calling. Texting is FAR more dangerous.
Government is sticking its fingers too far into my house and car.

Supposedly there's a hands-free cel phone law, too.
I say "supposedly" because I almost got hit by two different women today in SUVs, chatting on their phones. I swear, it looks like they're using the phone to hold their brains in.
One lady almost hit me when changing lanes on 101 without looking. The other was coming in the other direction, drifted into my lane, heading straight for me (she had a child in the passenger seat). I had to swerve halfway off the road to avoid getting hit. She was preoccupied and never saw a moment of the incident... Bummed I didn't honk to scare the crap out of her...
I'm also looking forward to the day SUVs come equipped with turn signals. As of now, I'm not convinced they do...

i can text without looking but that doesn't make it safe..
it is still distracting you. there is nothing SO important that you need to text while driving.
if its important then pull over for a minute.
