Really? Does it? I dont buy it. I see CHP just cruisin through all the time not even looking at people. Its not a money issue its a lazy issue. $75 plus court cost you are looking at $100+. for 10 minutes of time. plus this will also get the unlicensed drivers off the road. being that my wife works in law enforcment some knucklehead was pulled over the other day for yapping on his phone and he was driving without insurance or DL. nuther sucker off the road.

so if chp would pull their weight there is alot of good this could do.

on top of that now the chp doesnt have to guess if you were talking or txting. if they see you holding the phone...your done. and from what i hear if you go fight it the judge 95% of the time rules in favor of the officer. it sucks but thats just what happens.

just dont be ****ing around on yoru cell while driving and you have nothing to worry about.

thats what the 44 or whatever it is now pays for...the court cost. the judge is paid a salary paid with taxes so it doesnt matter how many cases he does or doesnt see.

and like i said from what i hear unless it had special circumstances the judge is gonna rule in favor of the officer. its kind of like getting busted in the car pool lane. no matter what you say the judge knows you were more than likely guilty and thats it.

i am not saying i agree with it but thats just how it goes sometimes and it sucks but like i said, just dont be on the phone and you dont have to trip.

Even with bluetooth in my company car, I still need to look at the phone to look at my contact list or recent calls so I dial the right number.

i think the fact anyone would be upset by this is rediculous. so talk while you drive. they made a solution for that...bluetooth.

i am guilty of it too. (looking at my contacts list) but i try to use the voice command but if there is alot of traffic it gets confused... whatever. i should pull off to find that contact if it is that important just like everyone else should.

if i get hit for that...well then that sucks for me and i deserve it and i will have to pay a bunch of money for something that is sstupid... but if that keeps some douche bag off the phone and paying attention so he doesnt kill someone, and say that he/she isnt good at driving without distractions let alone with a cell phone then good for the law it saved someones life.

I can't have all of my customers customers and co-workers programed into my voice command. I get calls from customers I've never met before. If I need to call them back while I'm on the road (which is often), this doesn't do me any good. Taking a few glances at my contact/call history list is the only practical way to do it.
