I was behind some idiot lady in Jamba Juice yesterday and she was talking on the cell phone while ordering her smoothie. What a POS. The guy taking her order was obviously annoyed... he's not a robot, he's a ****ing human being. Get off your damn phone and talk to him!
This is a step in the right direction...

i do agree that people shouldn't be on the phone while driving. but there are a million other things that people do that are just as distracting.

I really have no idea what happened on the road if I use my handfree headset. Its like I suddenly teleport from 1 place to another during the conversation and I don't know how I got there. That's why I try not to use the cellphone in my car.

Yeah, this law will probably not change too much in terms of cell phone usage, but at least it's something...

Honestly I don't think people can drive worth a isht with NO distractions. Unfortunately there are so many other things that you can do in a car(or think you can do) like soccer moms driving there SUV's that can't see over the steering wheel swerving or reaching into the backseat to give there little bastard child a toy or the dumb teenage hooker plucking her eyebrows in the rearview. I agree cell phones should be banned in the car but everyone in America thinks that they are SO important that they NEED to talk a friend that they are gonna see in five minutes when they meet for lunch.
People can't even drive a shopping cart around the store without being in everyones way and bumping into things. Inconsiderate people pulling out in front of you and don't even realize that they just cut you off. My wife and I were walking out of Costco and she gave the receipt to they guy checking carts and I started to push the cart and to old senile idiots walked in front of me and had no idea that they just cut me off. Dammit I hate people.

The amount of the fine isn't going to deter anyone anyway. $20 for the first offense, $50 for subsequent. Most people get parking tickets that cost way more than that.
