the reason a lot of remote start alarms say automatic only is because if you bypass the clutch pedal (so it doesn't have to be pushed in to start the car) and the car is in gear, it'll jump forward if you try to start it.

Viper/Clifford alarms have an optional part that I guess goes by the shifter so it disables remote start if the car is in gear

I wouldn't do proximity sensors, they are annoying as hell

i have a990 in my car and its all good.
becareful if you do plan on getting remote start, i know people that had to replace their bumper and lips because of it.
you can sometimes ghost ride it, park it, stand out side, remote start it and bam, ghost ride!

i know sti's have neutral position wire, i dont know about wrx.

i had a close call one day...i tried to remote start one day not knowing my friend put my car in gear, car wouldnt start so i was like WTF stupid alarm then i realized the car was in gear...<3 neutral wire.

I am just about finished with some proxe 4's. They did just fine for me all winter. Even with low tread I didn't have any issues.

Really good in the wet. Not confidence inspiring on dry but they do o.k. for a do it all tire. Snow was fine for a do it all tire.

Not exceptional but they do pretty good in everything. What you'd expect out of a do it all tire. As for wear. They wore even but they wore about 10k faster than the tire folks said they would. I think I got 30k out of em... maybe.

But hell I got less than 8k out of my re070's.

if you want an M+S tire that does well in teh snow, i'd look at the Continental conti extreme contact or Dunlop sp5000. theyve been reviewed to do well in the snow moreso than other M+S tires. also the bridgestone potenza M+S tires are good. just not the re92s
