For head to hea I love LMK. The short track has passing points and it allows everyone to be aware of where everyone is. LMK is easiest to predict when you get on because of their reservation system.

GKR is best with the combined track but it's a huge time waster to wait around for your turn because they don't do reservations except big prepaid groups.

Umigo is nice and long but the track is slippery. That's ok for us rally guys bug frustrating for grip people.

K1 is a great track and location for me. But the power levels have proplems. The kart power is inconsistent during the race. After the initial "yellow lap", the karts were fast for abou the middle 1/3 and then something happened and the power was down. You could tell the difference in engine whine and braking points.

good, i thought i was going crazy with less power throughout the race. maybe it's the batteries overheating? i also thought the tires were losing grip as they heated up as well.

i personally prefer slipperier tracks. i find grippy tracks too easy and doesn't give much room for improvements. i also thought K1 has way way more grip compared to LMK or GKR.

I know what you mean about the power at K1. There's definitely more understeer there.

The manager and employees didn't believe us about the power thing. But if you look at all our times we kept improving up till lap 9 then all of a sudden laptimes slow down considerably.

The whine of the engine has a lower tone too.

We went to the K1 Speed in Anaheim and that track look super fun and "technical"

Looking at the track in Santa Clara, it looks like it's set up more for speed.

I've been to all the K1 tracks in California and in my opinion the best is Carlsbad.

it is for that one section and the straight in the back. but you need to use caution at the end/beginning of the track and that one killer turn before the backstraight.

my beef, is let's say you get into a poop kart for any reason.

doesn't turn left/right, no power, etc.

you can't pit and change karts cause they close the pit entrance! wtf! what do you do?

it is kinda stupid that they close the pit entrance. still don't get why none of their facilities require neck collars.

cause they have shoulder restraints and the roll bar behind your head.

i'm sure you're still free to wear one though, if you desire.

at SpeedRing, we made you wear suits and neck braces because there was nothing there for you otherwise, I've seen a handful of people get tossed out of the karts (some at 20+ mph), and people get absolutely destroyed from behind being smashed into, where at K1, your helmet will just hit the bar which will help prevent neck injury.

The shoulder restraints and roll bar won't help your neck if you get hit from the side or if your head goes forward in a crash.

They haven't been sued over it yet.

I'm sadly not kidding.

Oh... and someone mentioned ruining your helmet bumping into the roll bar behind your head... when I went last week they had installed padding on the bar right where the helmet contacts, so I believe they've fixed this issue.
