A yellow-red while you're in the intersection is still red for the people who are going perpendicular to that intersection. At least for that split second. People increase speeds on a yellow, therefore I think the flashers aren't there for safety at all. I think they would cause more accidents with people speeding up to get through the intersection. Just my opinion.
