i got one in the mail today. the thing is, its not for blatantly running a red light. the ticket is for not stopping before making a right turn at a red light. they sent me some pictures of my car before the intersection, and crossing the intersection. but i figure the only way they can prove that is to show a video. well, i log on to the website that supposedly shows you the video and the video doesn't work. i tried both on ie and firefox and updated my flash player...nothing.

anyone have any experience fighting these?

the site requires you to enter your licence and violation #. obviously, i would rather not give that info out. that being said here is part of a screen shot.

oh, and remember the camera adds 10lbs.

 

Well, did you stop?

The cameras won't take your picture if you did stop. They sense the speed and location of the car and know if you stopped or not.

 

copy paste the pictures here or something. Look at the time stamps.

 

Sounds like you will have to pay. Red light means stiop sory to be an ***, but it does mean stop. Unless there is a green arrow to turn right while the straight line traffic is red you always have to stop at red lights Go to traffic school online and pay the fine, not worht fighting it. Unless you have the time, and what not. Best case scenario you pay a small fee and no point is added after traffic school Good Luck

Yeah those use speed sensors in the ground with k band for back up. I dont think you will get out of it. Unless you claim it was not you driving.

Maybe go to court tomorow on it and show them the error link. Then you might get off on a technical..

I got one in January, 40th & Hollis...a block away where you got yours. That's a lovely little spot that the city of Emeryville makes lots of money out of.

Does yours say its an automatic point on your license? That's what mine said.

 

not totally true. I was making a right turn at a red by the capitola mall a couple weeks ago. I know the lights are MAD sensitive so I came to a 100% stop then made the right turn. As I was coming to a stop a truck drove in front of the camera... tall delivery truck making a right coming from the other way.

I then went forward and as I did that the truck moved out of the way. All the camera saw was me moving. Lit me up.

I'm yet to see the ticket but if it comes I'll fight it 100%.


His deal is gonna be hard to fight as it doesn't look like there's much in the way but you do have the right to face the ticketing officers. I thought I remember there being a loop hole there... maybe that's been filled?

 

the elapsed time b/w the 1st and 2nd shot is about 3 seconds according to the time stamp. again, without a video it seems pretty odd to me that they can prove i didn't stop. how do they know that in the 1st shot i am not at a stop?

lol my 8 doesn't have license plate. but i never ran light thought =] and never run the toll. don't really go to sf. so im not a bad citizen.
