Never-ending bad luck... Any tips or suggestions?
What up Jon?!?
Hey I might have a version 1-2 headlamp at home. I think I have a driverside one at home. The passenger side one exploded when a socket wrench in my pocket tapped it. You still need one?
Keep fighting the good fight. If I told you how much money I've spent in the past year on this car you'd fall over backwards. Not sure anyone has as bad of luck as I do!
Hope you're well.
cheers

I will mention some of the "battles" that I fought last year. Won some battles, but I lost the war in the end...
As for my headlight situation, I wont need any headlights since I fixed the ebay headlight that was damaged from shipping with epoxy and I have an extra set of aftermarket lights I am going to keep for future use. I am pretty much throwing all my bad luck out the window this year by keeping my car parked for a while till I am able to purchase and install a 6-speed since the 2005 model impreza transmission that had less than 1k miles when I purchased it in 2006 died about 3 weeks ago.
I seriously only put about 20k miles of driving on the thing since I installed it, but I guess with all the wtq from the STi engine, it was bound to let go sometime. I was really sad panda around new years time, but now Im totally fine since I decided its better to start over and fix my tranny correctly and stay out of legal trouble by keeping the car off the streets. So the car is now a rolling shell with a running engine, hehe.
Automotive highlights of 2008 for me:
1) Gas almost costing $5 a gallon for premium
2) Failing smog miserably, but passing finally with a "hookup"

3) 6 tickets received
4) Broken transmission
On the brightside, I moved to Socal this summer to take some classes in long beach (Im now living in the southbay - 310 area

Wow Ian, didnt think it was possible, but you moved even further away from the Bay aREa!!
Its been awesome weather where I live, about 10 min to Redondo Beach, but San Diego air quality FTW- when there are no fires.
I think I always had the most fun at BDG back in the day when there was you, Victoria, Ted, Charlie, and a few others Im forgetting now like Jeremy that were in attendance. Those were the days, LoL

Hey Jon-
Life is in progress... I think. RS is still kickin. Making me work for that dollar. I don't even like thinking about my car drama. It's a never ending battle. If it's not one thing it's a completely unrelated other thing. :P I also have that wagon. I'm trying desperately to get it out of my garage. I just want to unload it. Too many unreliable cars in the place.
What area of 310 are. I work in Culver City. Thats 310. I'd say we should meet up sometime but I don't have a car right now. heh.
cheers

Omg Garrett! How the heck are ya? Its sounds like you had a terrible 2008 as well.. hey just like me! What happened to your swap project? From what it sounds like, I probably wont be able compete with the magnitude of money you probably spent, but in terms of the stress I might be able to match you hahaha.

) but I still lurk the BAIC pretty often, lol. I bought a daily driver stock 96 Impreza OBS for $2k and its running like a champ. Had some fun by adding a few bolt-on mods to it. I currently am waiting to hear my admission status from Loma Linda so it looks like I am going to stay a few years since the admissions director said that I am pretty much a "shoe in" for acceptance.
