Never-ending bad luck... Any tips or suggestions?

Ok, so first a little background - the story begins last month when I get a speeding ticket, a fix-it ticket for no front plate and also for a broken headlight. I wont go into any details about how and where I got pulled over since it might turn into a long story and it would totally shift the focus of this thread.

Right now I am trying to fix my headlights, since right now I am driving around with two mismatching lights since one of the lens devloped a huge crack from a rock (probably on the 5 fwy or 880)
I wouldnt be surprised if the bad headlight was the main reason I got stopped.
Here is my car right now (before I put on the front plate back on):

[SIZE="4"]Here is where I need some advice on dealing with an unfortunate/unlucky transaction: I ordered a used OEM headlight from Ebay to fix the issue but the seller really ****ed it up - he didnt know how to properly pack it and it got damaged in shipping! Yes, the brown paper is all he used to pack the box - no bubblewrap or styrafoam, etc...
EDIT: Yay!! Got my money back.

I am going to contact the seller today and let him know the situation before threatening negative feedback.

So now I am going today to the police station to get the other fixable ticket written off - the front plate. After almost giving up on finding it after a month long search + lots of unnecessary stress of the worrying to pay the $100+ fine for my missing license plate...I finally found my front plate in the most random of all places. I re-installed it today and its going to stay there!

I would ask to see if you can get it refunded - if he's a genuine seller, he will refund you. As for the cost of shipping, someone will have to eat it up. I would ask for a refund, you got proof of damage during shipping.

sellers mistake. should be the sellers dollar. You should be able to get your dough back.

If you can't, maybe you can use the busted up one to repair your busted one.

As for the bad luck. I'm really sorry to hear about this jon. Sucks man. Maybe take that FLI sticker off your mirror and your luck will change.

If the seller wants to file a claim, the claim money would go to him, not you. So why shouldn't he give you the money back first? If you paid through paypal, you are sort of protected. Just send paypal the pics of the damage.

I might file a paypal claim, but that would be last resort if the seller fails to help me with taking care of the problem. What do you guys think a broken headlight is worth? Btw, I forgot to mention I bought it for $21 + $15 shipping so I paid $36 total.

The main problem with the headlight is the mounting bracket is destroyed and there is a crack forming along the housing. Epoxy would be a temporary fix but I foresee in the future a lot of condensation buildup inside the headlight especially since I am parking the car outdoors.

Hahaha, you know Ray I think I just might do it since my car is pretty much going back to stock anyway...(I just put on a stock WRX turboback and replaced my short-ram intake with my stock box recently since I am planning to look for cops and staying stealth)
I am almost done taking care of all my tickets this year - 6 total within the past 6 months if you count my 2 parking and 2 fix-it violations, one illegal U-turn and one speeding

Schweet - got both fix-it tickets signed off today at the CHP station! But the officer that looked at my L said "which car is yours, is it the HONDA there?" ... I was like "Yes, thats my car, but No, its actually a SUBARU"

thats ****ed up.... but if it was me... knowing that i'm lazy i would see if i can fix it, epoxy whatever tabs i need, seal whatever holes (it's just easier this way...). but if it's so bad that i can't do anything then i'd go and do all it takes to get my money back

Super excellent awesome news

YESSS!!! I got a full refund for the headlights today!

I am glad I tried to contact the seller first before looking into filing a claim with paypal. The transaction was a really small one but my anxiety level was compounded with my ticket situation and smog test (both things taken care of as well ) I am even more happy over the fact that my ebay seller was not a shady person and I feel hope for humanity during this holiday season.

Thanks to all

Awww thanks you guize for the support and the compliments.

Honest to gawd, I have been keeping it as "low key" as I possibly could since last year, esp. since last June I received a fat ticket for modified exhaust. My car feels very de-tuned now with the stock airbox and stock WRX exhaust and sadly it looks like I have to keep it that way if I want to live in CA and not get into any more incidents.

I wish all of BAIC a happy holiday season - Merry Xmas, Kwanzaa, Hanakkah to all!
