Storing my car Tips and Suggestions

Hello my friends,

I just bought a 2013 Subaru WRX 3 weeks ago and it is past the 1000 break in mark.
I have to leave Hawaii for a semester in college at portland then I will be back in Hawaii for the rest of my college career. I will be leaving my 2013 WRX in my house garage (enclosed with garage door).

I am wondering if there were any suggestions with what I should do when storing it for a long period (January 10-May 04).
Any suggestions and tips are welcome.

Also no one else in my house knows how to drive standard. If something simple needs to be done, such as turning it on for 10 minutes every week and revving it, I will tell my mom to do that.

Thanks everyone for your time and consideration in reading my post

Hope everyone has a good day.

I'm in the same situation. I'm moving to LA til August and I have an 06 STI. Luckily, my mom drives standard so shes going to drive it 20 min a week for me.

Best suggestion for you would be to put fresh gas in it, change out the oil (should be done after a 1k break in anyways), then have the car run for a little bit. Since its 91, you shouldn't have to worry about adding any formula in the gas tank or anything.

Best thing would be to get someone to drive it, but since that's not an option, i would at least get it started to make sure everything gets lubed (maybe 1 ever week, or every other week).

I'm no expert, but thats what i have been told/ what i would do.

I just used to throw some fuel stabil in my car and put it up on 4 jacks. Those were for my deployments and the cars were N/A so i dunno if fuel stabil hurts turbo cars. Have it started up a few times and maybe a car cover.

+1 on the jackstands and starting it at least every other week (till it gets warm, figure at least 10 minutes).

this is assuming that no one can drive the vehicle for a decent bit o time...

read the label on fuel stabil...guessing it should be fine for turbo vehicles. simply drive easy once you're back to burn off all the fuel stabil, fresh tank o gas and a'boostin you will go!
