Need help on video editing

Question Need help on video editing

Sup guys,

I bought a SONY HC-40 last weekend,and I'm having difficulty to load the video to my computer. I tried using the supplied software,but I don't think it work that well.
I've never done this type of things before. I need you guys' help ><

the software is called " picture package ". The result was sort of weird IMO. All it did was capture the video/audio and mixed it itself. There's not much i can do. I tried power director this afternoon. It can not detect the DV for capture. I don't really know why =(

heh,I was thinking getting that. It looks pretty easy to use than power director from the demo.

just tried it, and it works..very easy to use. But the quality isn't that great?compare to my car video collection from other people.Any tips?

you can change the video quality. if you make it the avi format, the quality is good, but the file will be HUGE.. all the rest are wmv format. what i normally do is gather the footage from there in avi then use premeire to put it together and save it as a mpeg. if not htat, just edit it and everything and if you dont care about GREAT quality, save it as a high quality wmv

remember, when capturing, use the highest and non compression coded/file format.

AVI is perfect. but like CLEOFIS said, it will be big files.

expect to buy external drives if you will do this a lot.

once you edit, use a coded like DIVX to create nice, but compressed files. i use WMV as the file format...

and depending on how good you want to be to your intended audience, render to 512k or better bitrate. just about everyone has broadband...
