Need advice on aftermarket alarm's fuel, starter, ignition kill...

Ive been researching security upgrades for my car and all the info is really starting to hurt my head now... I know that i want fuel kill, ignition kill, and a starter kill feature in my alarm system. but i would like to at least know how these systems physically work. im one of those people who like to DIY to make sure that i know its done correctly. i cant have piece of mind unless how something in my car works. anyone wanna elaborate on how ignition, fuel, starter kill actually disables a car? thanks for any help guys
