Hey guys...newbie here and i don't even own a suby. name is gabe, i was the kid that rolled up with james (green 98 2.5rs w/gold wheels). I currently drive a VW which i am trying to get rid of to purchase a suby...hopefully you guys are as welcoming as the VW crowd was and from the first meet that i have gone to, it seems to be true.

looking forward to good times =)

I used to drive a mkIII gti vr6 with a vortech blower. It was a lot of fun, but ever since I got the subie, I've never looked back.

well, the dub has just been too much of a headache in terms of maintenence. fun to drive, but not exactly the best car out there.

Yup. I actually have a theory about this; Subaru is just expensive enough so that to weed out (most) "ricers" but cheap enough to avoid pompous A-holes. Results is we get nice guys.

But don't be too quick to lable the Honda community; engineers who like tinkering and former muscle car guys who like swapping tend to be attracted to Honda (and VW) as well, and they are super cool guys!

Hey Wiggles,

Welcome,

I'd been in the VW/Audi scene for a good 12-13 yrs. I've had a total of 4 GTI's and a 79 Scirocco with a 1.8 conversion, and my last car was an A4 1.8t with a8's APR chip, Nuespeed suspension. Last year I went to an 02 WRX, and I love it. I think I'm settling on this one. It has the best performance for the price, and aftermarket parts are way cheaper than Euro aftermarket parts. I do have to admit I love the Euro styling with it's clean lines and when dropped they look like they got bulldog stances. . . SICK. The WRX styling took a little while to grow on me, but once I engaged the clutch and hit the gas, and took a corner, my smile was ear to ear.
