n00b wiring question
ok so this is my first attempt at car audio.
here is my setup, give it a quick once thru, its pretty simple as i want to keep that sweet 6disc changer:
Subs: [2] 10" Kicker Comp VR 01C10vr4
Recommended RMS Power: 300W
Peak Power Handling: 600W
Impedance: Dual 4 ohms
Amp: JBL PowerValve BP-300.1
Amplifier Type: Mono
RMS Power: 150W @ 4 ohms
Bridged RMS Power: 300W x 1 @ 2 ohms
now i am an ubern00b when it comes to car audio, but i have a big shop and access to every tool imaginable. what wiring am i going to need to purchase (getting from sounddomain) to wire the subs and amp together and run it to the deck. also, where can i grab wiring schematics.
would i just be better off going to good guys and having them do the install? i really prefer working on my own car.
thnx
aaron

i use to install and some of the most jacked up installs i worked on were vehicles where the owner or friend of the owner tried to install the equipment first for whatever reason (usually to save money). now it isn't really that hard but if you plan on using the stock head unit you will have to splice in a line-output converter or loc, and this will make things a bit more tricky.
parts needed
1. speaker wire
2. rca's
3. remote or turn-on wire
4. loc or line-out convertor
5. power wire w/fuse link
6. ground wire
usually you can purchase an amp kit that includes all this plus fasteners (excluding the loc). they sell them in different increments so you can pick the one that suits you best. i don't know about the wiring schematic, i'm sure it can be found with a little searching. if you have never done any stereo before, honestly i would say take it to a shop. smaller shops the guys are more friendly and some will even let you go in the back while they are working on your car and let you watch. if you really want to do it yourself though, pm me and i will try and break it down step by step for you

Dick is right!
But here is my .02 worth
If I were to be hooking this system up I would mount the amp to the box, and then hook the LOC up to the rear speakers so you would only have to run the remote up to the HU its the only solid blue wire (just use a vampire tap). Then all you need is a short RCA cable to hook the LOC to the amp and run your power wire down the drivers side door through the rubber groment under the pedels through the fire wall to the battery. Hook up your ground to some metal in the trunk and you should be good to go.
Also you can find a wiring kit at best buys for under $50 that would work great for this set up.
This is what I would do if it were my car but its not so Good luck with however you chose to do it.

Get an Amplifier wiring kit and do it yourself. It is a grueling process the first time around, but once you learn it, it is a piece of cake. If you have a friend who knows how to wire the stuff up, try and get him to help you, if not, then be prepared to spend a lot of time to get it done.
Oh, and I would recommend knukonceptz.com for their wiring kits.
Feel free to pm me if you've got any more questions
