I searched around for a used stock replacement tranny when I broke mine. IF you can find them, and I really mean IF, (I think I found a total of 3 used trannys in my search,) you're going to shell out 1200-1500 for a used trans. And then you always have the chance of breaking them again down the road. They aint cheap for these cars, and most people brake em before they replace them, so they're hard to come by, unless you have the hookups.

On the plus side, you could use this as an opportunity to upgrade to a tranny geared better than the wrx, for example an XT, or (as meantioned) RA, or STI 6spd.

I just lost my job too man, it sucks. :\

LIC has a MY04 manual transmission with 26K miles on it for $1400. That looks like a pretty good deal if you can scrape up the change.

Just saw your post, sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Yes, we do have a MY04 Tranny, but it requires the use of MY04 axles, which we also have. I was hoping to sell the MY04 setup as a complete drivetrain swap since we have everything.

We also have a MY02 Tranny with low mileage, that being in the 40k range. This one should cost a little less, inquire if you're interested.

Thanks,
-Adam
