So how is 25K over 5 years cheaper then 8K over 5 years? Im gonna have to get a loan either way and paying back 8K is a lot less then paying back 25K, plus I owuld need to come up with 3K for a down, Im not buying another subie.

For 25k you'll have a stock car right?...Where for 8k you'll be riding like a pimp.

For everything you've listed above jewpac42, I'm absolutely convinced the right way to go is to just fix the head.
It sounds like the swap would be a stretch financially. And then you have a WRX motor with a non-WRX tranny...which is a recipe for a NON-reliable setup if driven remotely hard. Which is gonna cost you MORE money....which by wanting to take out a loan in the first place indicates it'd be a stretch.
Not to mention, as far as car resale you'll get nowhere CLOSE to that "extra" $6-8K for a swap back when you go to sell the car. So now you're paying for a loan on something where your chance of much of any return on that loan is zero!
Just repair the head and be done with it...

seriously i wouldnt consider anyone else to do my swap, hell my car is sitting there right now lol. I honestly bought my 98RS swapped, but adam did it waaay back in the day and was the 7th conversion it was pretty damn faithful until my dirty hands got to it and ruined the motor and now its getting a new motor lol. There's no bad I can speak of LIC, go there and you wont be dissapointed. But beware....no matter who does it...you or a shop...expect some downtime and unexpected **** to happen and a delay here and there...its not a simple "lets put this 350 into gm product ______" the wiring is the hardest part so unless you feel confident or electronically inclined then go for it and more power to ya
