Some advice for a home invasion situation for y'all.
If someone breaks into your house and you have a gun. Blast them (please be sure it isn't a loved one). After making sure the perp is immobilized or dead then fire a shot in some upwards direction as the "warning shot". That way if it goes to court you can say you gave a warning and fired a warning shot first. Ballistics cannot tell which bullet was first and it gives you a better chance of winning the case.
