So, last night when my girlfreind was walking home a black dude in a huge parka ran up behind her, popped her one and pushed her over, and stole her purse. She got bloodied up a bit, but I think it scared her more than anything. It was on California and 9th ave, which is not really a shady part of town.
Anyways, I'm really pissed, but unless i wanted to be the tough boyfreind and try and go track him down - which is retarded - there is really nothing I can do. Frustrating.
Is mugging really that common down here?

We both live in the richmond district, san francisco, I live on 15th and lake, she lives on 10nth and california.
It was unreal and terrible to rush over to your girlfirend and she's crying and bloody. A really helpless feeling.

**** these punk *** *****es. I'm so pissed. I can honestly say that I don't deal with man on woman abuse very well. I am a very very mellow non violent guy...but something flicks off in me when I hear/see this stuff. I hope the guy slips up in the future and some female trained in close combat takes him out and he has to go to jail with the reputation of getting busted up by a woman.

Well...at least I have good reasons to loose my cool in those cituations.

Yeah, we did the whole report thing. She kept a good sense of humor about it, making fun of the guy for using mugger cliche's like "We can do this the easy way or the hard way" and "Make it easy on yourself, lady". She told the cops that if they see a black homeless guy in a huge parka and fabulous lipstick, then its their guy - as other than her phone and wallet - is all she had in the purse. Anyways, she is fine - now we are more pissed than anything. *******s....
