My barbecue won't work!!!

It has something to do with the new tank that I had to buy today. The distinguished gentleman at the gas station informed me that my old tank was dangerous, and as of last year had been made illegal (Can't get it filled anywhere). So I buy a new tank from Home Depot, get it filled and now it won't work!!

Basically what happens is that the beginning of the propane tube inside the barbacue will light, but that's it. The propane flame will not spread to the rest of the barbecue. One time it spread to the other side, but would not remain lit in the middle.

I checked for leaks on the connections to the tank with soapy water, didn't see anything. It's a weber ( IF it matters)

Help me I'm hungry!!!

Sounds like your tubes are clogged or rusty/corroded.

Clean/brush them or replace them!

But if they were clogged, then why would they work fine 3 days ago?

(I'm not saying your wrong, I need more clarification)

the new tanks simply have an overfill protection valve.
