If you want to buy new, look into a VF34.
Making power isn't a big issue, good tuner will make good turbo parts work very well. Problem is sustaining that power on a stock block, drivetrain and brakes. For a street car, I'd go with the smallest turbo that would let me reach my power goal, and my power goal would be limited by other parts on the car, assuming I was planning to keep them as-is. I'd set a goal of 270wtq, that's plenty of power for a street car, that can be done fairly safely with a VF and STi TMIC on 91 octane. Beyond that, I'd start saving up for an STi drivetrain swap, forged pistons, engine refresh and at least Brembos.

Yes 300 is fun but not when you have friends with 450whp evo's, 600+ cobras, and a 460whp lightnings lol.

HAHA, always gotta have the better car with more power!
Well, I'm in no rush to get to my 300WHP goal, so I'll take my time. Like I said, in a couple of months when I have the money, after I've payed my 2nd semester tuition at SJSU, I'll look into purchasing a newer turbo.
I just ordered an sti oil pump, upgraded sti oil tube and 255L wahlbro fuel pump, so I'll be good for now.
HERRRRRRRA excited for my EL headers to get here!
