More power?

Just wondering if there's any real way of making more power without getting a new turbo kit. I think once I add up the price of my maddad headers with all the required additional equipment, I could've upgraded my turbo...but no biggie.

Current engine related mods (including once I install my new headers):

Invidia Catless Downpipe
Megan Racing Catless Uppipe (will be replaced by maddad uppipe)
GReddy Ti-C Catless Exhaust
Injen Cold Air Intake
GReddy Blow Off Valve RS
MadDad Equal Length Header/Uppipe
Boost Pill

My goal is to reach at least 300WHP/300WTQ. My girls been dynotuned by GST pushing 227WHP/221WTQ. I'm hoping to not have to break my bank to purchase an upgraded turbo if I don't have to.

Any suggestions?

you're gonna need corn juice and a bigger turbo to approach anywhere near 300 whp on a 2.0. Moving to a 2.5 litre will help but that costs $$$$

2 liter? You won't hit true 300whp even on a VF43 and 91 octane. You can make 280wtq though and that's a great amount of power and can break the stock tranny easily.

In short, get a VF turbo and don't bother with the TD04 :-)

I was actually thinking about that, switching to cornjuice but I figured I would go bankrupt in no time because my WRX is my DD, so I don't want to burn through E85 like crazy.

I haven't bought a used turbo because...well its used and there could be someething wrong with it.. =[

In time, I think maybe in a couple months when I have more money, I will upgrade to the Blouch TD05H 16G turbo (http://www.fastwrx.com/dezitd16gtuu.html) with supporting mods like upgraded 740 CC fuel injectors, upgraded fuel rails, upgraded fuel pump

if you want 300whp on a 2.0 (and that power is a lot of fun) you need to speak to Mike Wharfield at GST. 300whp is childsplay to Mike. He will put you on the right path.

Thanks, I just sent an email over to Mike at GST. I'm hoping to hear back from him within next week.

You will need at least an 18G to hit 300whp on 91 Octane. With E85 or race gas, you could hit 300whp+ on a VF series turbo.

Thanks

Ed from your experience where does the stock turbo top out with 91 octane on a 2.0?

Most of them are in the 215-220whp range. I've had a few that did about 225whp, but that's not very common.

I say go with a vf48 and I didn't see injectors or a fuel pump on your list of mods which will be a must for that kind of power.

If you have e85 go with that, if not what Ed said was spot on! a tdo5 18g is a great choice for the 2.0, fast spool and good power!!
