Question Looking at another wagon (in 4eat) for the family, wrx or ts/rs wagon???

i ask this because i currently have a 5mt wrx wagon w/ cobb stg2. its fast, i like it. the next wagon will be auto for sure (second car), but i just cant decide between the wrx or 2.5ts/rs wagon. i test drove both cars in auto, and they are both slow by comparison to my wrx, but i dunno which one to get! the auto wrx has absolutely no low end, but power is there when you step on it. the 2.5 has low end torque but nothing really up top. my dilemma is that since it will be auto, it wont really matter where the power comes on, so i could go with the rs. but at the same time, if i go with the rs, will there be something left to be desired in overall hp??? i could mod the wrx after all. lets hear some opinions of ts/rs owners, or better yet, people who have switched from one engine to the other.

Hey, buy my '02 PSM 4EAT wagon which is already modded 260whp @Gruppe-S (VF22, ECUTEK, TBE, etc). I'm too lazy to part it out and have been contemplating selling it for a long time already now. It's got a nice MB Quart/JL Audio system and Navi too. 32K miles. Oh and compared to a 5MT WRX, at 260whp it's not slow by any means.

06 wrx has the 2.5l turbo. check it out. I have a 2002 wrx 4eat with some mods to help reduce lag, wouldnt believe how much it helps.

How about a Forester XT? Gobs of torque, and with a simple turbo/IC upgrade and tune you can make it into an STi wagon with weight advantage.

I had my 4EAT XT tuned by Shiv, and even with the stock turbo it rips... gotta love that 4.44 final drive, heheh...

With 91 octane selling for over $3/gal around here, the TS has a certain appeal that it might not have had a couple years ago- namely- you can pump cheap 88 oct into it -no problem.

wow, thanks for all the input guys. i'd like to buy used with lower miles (less than 60k), the lower the better of course. but i talked to henry at downtown subaru and i could get a new rs wagon for a good price. but of course, the lower the better again, which means private party would be ideal. im looking to spend about $15k. i dont think i can find a FXT at that price, darn.

i'd like to stay with an impreza. i like the size and handling. plus, i'd like to lower it too hehe.

someone also mentioned that modding a 4eat wrx would really help out the lag. i wasnt sure if modding would do anything. i guess i should test drive a modded wrx 4eat. anyone willing?

You can get a brand new Saab 9-2x Linear for $17,300. Something to think about.
