Russ do you have a WRX or a TS?
WRX has VTD and the RS and TS do not.

variable torque distribution... If I'm remembering correctly, it sends a little more power to the rear wheels then the manual tranny/center clutch does when accelerating to lessen understeer. a 45.5% front, 54.5% rear power split...

when you are powering around or out of a corner, more of the power is sent to the rear tires (54.5%), it makes the car 'plow ahead' or understeer less; in other words, better handeling characteristic

Car Info: 2004 Impreza TS Sedan
Correct me if I'm wrong... but isn't the 2004+ RS/TS 4EAT split 45% front and 55% anyway? I believe reading that on different posts but I could be wrong.

double-checked it... the 2003 impreza brochure says it's got a 45.5% front, 54.5% rear power split.
