Any benefit to 04 WRX or STI factory springs on a 04 2.5ts????

Does any one have insight to the differences in spring rates and heights from a 2.5rs/ts spring to a WRX or WRX STI spring?

I have an opportunity to get WRX STI springs rather cheap and want to know if there would be any real benefit to install them on a 2.5 wagon?
-OR-
Should I spend a little more money and get Tein S-tech springs instead?

I was planning to just run with the factory strut setup and upgrade the springs.
I want a slightly lower profile with a little improvement in handling.

I really just want to get rid of the nasty looking gap over the front wheels.

2004 USDM STi.........200...............................130-200
2002 2.5RS (MT/AT)....149/158 ......................117/129
WRX Sedan (MT/AT) ..163/163 .....................119/132......
WRX Wagon (MT/AT) .163/163......................132/144......

Your struts will be valved to suit your softer springs, so don't go nuts w/o stiffer struts.

I looked up the Tein S-tech and they are 252 (front) / 219 (rear)

I think the STI springs should work well for what I want. A little increase in stiffness with a slight lowering of stance.

Thanks for the information.

I think I'd keep what you have and save up for coilovers. The price/performance gain ratio seems negligible to me but I could be wrong.

Yeah I have considered the coil over route but I can get the STI springs for about $80 vs coilover system for $900 - 1200.

The performance is about the same as changing out to a Tein or Eibach spring kits.
