If you think you can just show up someplace and do that, I'd say you don't know much about how things work in this day in age.
No need for the condescending attitude Mr. Man. How about you offer up some direct & helpful information rather than just being openly disrepectful.

Thanks!

he aint being condescending.

pete is stating a fact and giving examples of what he's currently in the middle of (northern nevada rally).

if there's anyone else here who knows more about putting on big events (read: involves tons of $$$$), i suggest they step up.

trust me, i went to the quarry last year asking them about exactly what's being planned right now. the dude there gave me so much negative information (from a $250 initial permit fee, to having insurance) that i just essentially said in thread last year that it's best to count that area out.

just soon after, daniel got the park as a spot for the event...

YES he is being condescending and NO he's not giving concrete info about how to accomplish the goal in the OP.

umbrella...that's the word!

Didn't someone say all they needed was 1million? Not to bad as far as insurance goes iirc...

I gotta drive over an hour to get to this, so I wanna make sure all bases are covered before I drive over there just to get turned away at the door cuz some *** officer has decided he's going to "do his duty" by not allowing us to meet under all the conditions set forth by the park...

Riiiight.
Because given the fact that there are stupid people that do stupid things that result in loss of property/life, insurance is mandatory.

And if y'all think psoper is "condescending", thicker skin is needed.

Let's see, I posted a link to an outfit that gives free quotes for event insurance on-line, and later suggested talking to a homeowners insurance company to look into umbrella coverage...

And your direct and helpful contribution to this thread was...???

well then Americans need thicker skin.
how come its ok for 5 cars to show up at a park, but not ok for 20 cars?

If we're gonna bother with insurance, why dont we make it a driving event?

Id rather pay $40 to drive, than $10 to stand around cars with mudflaps that have never seen dirt.

My skin is plenty thick, just trying to act within the "rules". Believe you me I could get real ugly about this. But its cool I'll be the bigger man and let it slide, I see how you big guys roll.

thats what the venues will tell you when they dont have adaquite coverage. You can get an umbrella policy to cover YOU in case of major property damage, or life loss, but it won't cover the other jackass who destroys 10 cars and kills 3 ppl.

plus, even if it did, would you really want a claim like that on your insurance? They would drop you faster then you could blink, and no company in the state of california would want to insure you after that.

If we are getting insurance lets do a track day, something that involves our cars and not the internet speak over them.........

+10 for actual driving!!!!

Meeting other suby owners is cool, but I rather drive my car than just talk about it.
