Your statement isn't accurate. You can assemble a rebuild kit in CA, provided that you destroy the original preban hi cap mag the rebuild kit is replacing.

The whole idea is you're rebuilding a damaged/unserviceable mag. However, under the law, you cannot have any more hi caps than what you started with.

So how do they know what you started with?

They don't know. And if anything, the burden of proof is on them if they try to say you didn't already own X number of hi cap mags before they were banned in 2000.

So as long as "you owned them before 2000" you can shoot/carry them with your gun? No issues with that? Was there a limit to capacity before 2000, like the 65 rd lol

I didn't know you could completely just swap them out.

Could I swap out my 17rd mag with a 33rd mag and destroy my old one?

You are technically rebuilding you existing magazine. But that rebuild can ultimately lead to replacement of every component of the existing magazine.

technically replacing a 17 round mag with a 33 round would be illegal... but there's no way to prove you didn't already own a 33 magazine before the ban

Yea sorry they were all sold as "rebuild kits", the 30rd mags were even stamped with Colt but that doesn't mean they are true Colt mags... right?

Actually that laser is a pretty high speed piece of kit. It's basically a German made version of the PEQ-14.

If anything, they should ****can the EOTurd and swap it out for an Aimpoint T-1.
