Wait... when you say "summer" you mean the current track as of today right?

I'm going to be there this weekend... I have a reservation at 12:30. We'll probably not have the Subie, but I have the white helmet and silver race suit. Say hi if any of you are around.

lol...the weight definately kills your times
I was on a much larger track yesterday here in taiwan, but similar size/speed carts, we ran 8 heats then 1 final heat of 10. I qualified tenth for the final, came in 3rd over all, lost to two smaller taiwanese guys, they would pull on me on the front straight every damn lap!

Best thing to do is to buy a frequent driver card. It works out to around $14 to $15 per 10 minutes. Best time of day for good times tends to be later in the day, even evenings. When there is a lot of activity it heats up the track and makes it a bit grippier.
BTW - I did a 18.45 mid-day on Saturday.

YES!!! I just came back at lunch and got a 19.242; and I qualify for the twin engine kart!! Yeehah!
The only times I can go is week day around lunch which means that I'm usually first out for the day; which is not good for sticky. In fact, it's downright slippery. But today, there was a juniors class just before normal hours so they laid down fresh rubber, warmed up the track and the karts. And as a result, I was easily under 19.5 for most laps. And this is in traffic with about a dozen yellows, too!
Kart #6 (my best 19.3, but lots of traffic) engine really wants to move. #12 (my best 19.2 less and smarter traffic) is pretty fast handling.
BTW, they told me to hurry up and get out on the twin engine because they are lowering qual time to 19.0 or below.

Let me know what the twin engine is like before I try it myself.

Sorry to rain on your parade. I was just saying that they are probably lowering the requirement for the twin engine to 19.0 because the new layout is quicker and 19.5 was based on the older layout.
I haven't driven the twin engine kart. I think it's only a couple of tenths quicker than the regular kart.
