Wow... the track is much faster now. They shortened the big sweeper that ends in a hairpin and now the track is closer to 17.0 second. Several people in the run group I did last thursday were hitting under 17s. I got 16.83s as a fast lap.

Yes. Especially on your birthday (+/- 3 days) because they give you a full combo free, as opposed to GKR which only gives 1 practice.

IMHO, LMK is more fun when you have a bunch of friends all who are close in skill simply because there is more passing room. In addition, LMK is easy reserve or drop in... where GKR won't let you reserve without minimum 6 or 8 or something.

GKR has a longer and more interesting track though.

The best track in the sfbay is Umigo out in Livermoore... but that's really far for us south bay'ers.

 

i usually go once a year but if there's a meet, i'm definitely in.

 

I went about 6 months ago and got something like a 19.4, I'm guessing that was before they changed the setup because the fastest time in the heat was a low 19. And the records on the wall were in the 18s, if i recall correctly. But i guess the records don't mean much since they change the setup pretty frequently (?).

 

Just had a corporate team meeting there and it was pretty fun. My best lap was 18.1

i used to be a track manager there

our track was 3x as fun as lemans, used to be almost a full 1/4 mile, ~28sec laps. i used to hit ~38 mph peak, up to 14 on the track at a time, mobbing.

reading this brought back a lot of good mems. AJ Almendinger used to come in all the time (pre-Nascar) along with Randy Hannigan (World of Outlaws).

 

i heard you gotta go sunday or monday when they have both tracks combined, way more fun.
