That is the key to her sanity ! it was a copy and that is not an accepted form of evidence that it is a legit document (they may have altered it so to speak) if it ever goes to court.
That is a closed book case already, clerks fault not hers.

I can't image how you could have possible worded it with the court to not make it seem like you were trying to do something illegal.
I think if she bought us all beer and strippers on night every thing will work out just fine. But that's the only way for things to be resolved. Just my two cents.

I called and said I got ticket. I got proof but the company is no longer in business and I have no contact info. They said, don't worry, we never really verify it.

I don't know about with tickets, but we get call from the DMV verifying if a particular insurance ID card is valid or not. Usually they are not. If she used a 'real' ID card then it may not look as suspicious, but I'd hope that it looked real enough that they won't check.
this is definitely one of those cases where the result of the pursuit is not worth the pursuit itself. a case like this has no repurcussions on the judge, court, lawyers, officials. so why pursue it. waste of time.
Like others have said they will never really go back and check.
People are missing something though. California has some fairly new stuff concerning insurance. If you ever get a no insurance ticket you might be required to file an SR22 insurance. I might be thinking about something else, but I'm pretty sure that SR22 is an electronic DB hookup so that they can verify you have insurance at all times and your Insurance Co needs to keep it current and verified for you.
It probably costs $$

It really pisses me off when people drive without insurance. Not only did she do that, but she went out of her way to fake insurance for the man. Tell her to ****ing get insurance.
