in fact, i dont remember him getting to the line at all in the 1st half.
i think it was late in the 3rd when he first got to the line.
and yes, going after his head is one thing. deserves a T. hell, going after anyone's head should deserve a fine as well.
but hugging him up... well that's fair to me.
after all you are going for the ball...

IMO it would be stupid NOT to foul Shaq every time he gets the ball close to the hoop. Nobody except MAYBE Yao even has a chance of defending him. When he's shooting 60% from the line, by fouling him you are effectively making him shoot 60% of 2 points rather than 95+% of 2 points. Who cares if I have to go through 2 or 3 big guys every game to prevent him from taking a shot from inside four feet? It's completely legal, it cuts down on the number of points he scores, and it would probably annoy the hell out of him. Those are all very good things in my book.
I agree, hack shaq. Exploit his weakness, although at times it's not a weakness. But the key is to change up the strategy. Shaq gets aggressive when he's fustrated and he starts to fight too much for position. He'll just try and go right through you. If you stand there, you'll get the charge. If you try to stop him, you get the foul. But sometimes, it's good to foul.
