just got a speeding ticket
the CHP told me that he was pacing me from montegue exit off 680 southbound. we stopped right before the capitol exit.
on the citation, he didn't note where and how long he paced me. nor did it have the patrol vehicle number.
are they trying to be as vague as possible?

They will just write your speed, the posted speed limit, and location of violation. They do not need to write how long they were following you.
Good luck!

i know it's hard to contest and win but i will contest this one. can't hurt to go through the written declaration process.
he didn't list his vehicle no....so i wonder if the speedo calibration would work?
anyone out there that successfully got the ticket thrown out?

I havn't contested any moving violations but my barber contested his running a red light ticket and went to trial, he lost and actually got his fine increased!! (probably from court fees er sumthin)... something to think about

Try this method:
1. Delay your court date as many times as they allow.
2. On the last court extension, ask for written declaration paperwork.
3. Request information!! Officer's training records on speed determination, vehicle speedo calibration, radar calibration records, daily logs, etc. If any piece of requested information is not provided, note it down.
4. Delay the written declaration as long as possible.

That Sucks. This morning I got my first ever warning for 70 in a 50 zone...every other time I've been pulled for speeding I've gotten a ticket but this guy let me off with a warning...
When he went back to his car with my license, reg and insurance I was cursing it up a storm thinking I'd gotten Another point but he just came back and said "slow down, this is a warning"
+1 for CHP (until my next ticket then I'm gonna hate them again
)
He was checking out my car so maybe he was a scooby guy

I'd rather pay the ticket than to delay delay delay. I cant stand having to remember paperwork and due dates in my head. I wouldnt be surprised if i got a citation in the mail saying im a year late and my payment has tripled lol.
