I'm guessing when you pay the fine the ticket goes away but your car becomes classified as a gross pollutant. Which is a big no no in CA so they can tow your car and send it to the yard.

i thought after you pay, you're clear???

when i paid my last ref ticket, santa clara county as well, they mentioned my record was clear of that ticket.

i was talking to my co worker who is a san jose resident all her life, and she too agrees that SJPD is really strict.

but what happens when the people decide to become passive about their government?

situations like this happens. that's why i keep saying, the only way to stop this crap from happening is to get the court to issue an injuction against the LE agency doing this.

what is an injunction? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Injunction

An injunction is an equitable remedy in the form of a court order, whereby a party is required to do, or to refrain from doing, certain acts. The party that fails to adhere to the injunction faces civil or criminal penalties and may have to pay damages or accept sanctions for failing to follow the court's order. In some cases, breaches of injunctions are considered serious criminal offenses that merit arrest and possible prison sentences.
unfortunately, this involves lawyers...

They really are cracking down now.

Every Sunday theres meets at Quicklys at Milpitas Square, and usually cops roll through to see if anyone does anything stupid, and sometimes people do and get caught. But tonight, they were out full force, pulling over modded cars left and right. They were just pouring in, then making circles back to catch other cars.

Looks like car meets will all die out now.

this profiling really stinks.

I heard that there was harrasment at HIN in Pleasanton this past weekend. What about the Goodguys? Wonder how many of them were pulled over???

Let's face it guys, we all have choices on what mods we make to our cars. If ur gonna make mods, then expect to face the consequences.

But if we are truly being profiled, then we need to get legal advice. Any law students out there?

Nuff said.

From what i heard about the HIN problems was that a STi and a Supra were both hit with state ref tickets...(herad through a friend, not sure where he heard).... that spread through the show later at night as the cars were leaving the show. There were tons of cops out in the parking lot, but fortunately from what we saw... we rolled right out with no problems... I myself left with so steezy and a friend of mine in his loud *** m45 and caravaned home with no problems.. knocked on wood before we left
