At the moment I am really tripping over this jury duty summons I got a while back. I was supposed to report on the 12th of this month, but being stupid I placed the summons instructions in a place I could not easily see it.

Well now its the 28th and I remember the friggin jury duty. I go to Alameda's court website, sign in, and it state sthat my current jury status is "pool".

What does this mean? Am I in trouble? Help a fellow Californian out here...

 

you aren't in trouble. sometimes people don't get their mail.

 

Last time I got a jury summons it came regular mail, not certified.

If you miss it, you must have never got it. Mail theft is on the rise.

 

Yeah i forgot once too a few years ago...FBI hasnt sent feds to my house repelling down froma helicopter yet.

Not certified so you can throw it right in the trash right? haha

yea i hate jury duty too man. good thing im a student right now, so i use it as an excuse to not be able to make it.

 

Don't you just gonna say something like you're racist and they'll excuse you from it?

racist alcoholic would be a good excuse if we had a fair system to begin with

 

yeah, i plan to just throw away any jury duty notice i get, such a huge waste of time.....

dude i wish i said something last june about my jury duty, i would of ditched it. i was summoned and i went, i was there for almost 7 useless ****ing hours!! then they tried to tell me **** like "well this isnt finished so you all are summoned to come every tuesday and thursday for the next 4 weeks". i got excused out of that for having school.

 

Yea, I got jury a summons about three and a half months ago. I did the 90 day excuse and did the date around the week of Dec 25th and I never got another summons in the mail.. I guess it got lost in the holiday mail..
