Thats very true. But we are hurt as is for QB. It makes me sad. But I only bought my tickets for when we play the Pat's. Which I could be regretting sooner then later haha

lmao n9ers have been dead last in most offensive stats in three of the last 4 years now they have 3 QBs competing for the starting job LOL.

Just when you thought they couldn't get any worse. There's going to be no chemistry, desaster.

I remember another guy named Big Ben who seemed to do pretty well after starting to play 3 games into the season. Some QBs are just great irregardless of what scenario you throw them under. We seem to forget Montana and Aikman's first seasons where they got pummeled, but they rebounded and showed greatness the following years, because they were just great QBs. Smith looks like another 1st round bust ala David Carr; great combine, mechanics and on paper; but in real world they crack and fail.

Go look at his stats, that team was carried by Bettis and the defense. Besides, he had a much, much better team around him.

Smith's second season... only complete... he went for 2900 yards 16 TD/16 INT and ran for 200 and a couple TD's. Not bad considering it was only his second year and he had no line and no recievers and the offense leaned on the running game a lot.

in comparison...

montana's second year line

15 games. 1795 yards. 15TD. 9INT. 77 yards running and 2 tds.

He had Dwight Clark.

Don't think it's fair to say he's no good. I think he could be better than a few guys in the nfl currently starting.

Steve Youngs....2282 8td/13int

Those aren't bad numbers considering that VD was a rookie who didn't play much, Frank Gore carried the ball more often than just about everyone else combined and the #1 reciever was Brandon Lloyd? Or was it Antonio Bryant?
