Whatsup my fellow I-club members! Unfortunately, I was state reffed by CHP 2 nights ago on highway 9. Don't wanna go much into details on that :/ but anyhow. He got me state reffed because of my damn TurboXS BOV! I was also running full catless invidia turbo back exhaust but only saw my muffler and gave me a fix it ticket for it but state reffed me for emissions on the BOV.. Are you kidding me?! He said nothing about my damn downpipe either! Anyways. I put the stock turbo back exhaust on as well as the OEM BPV. HOWEVER! My air pump is bad (2006 WRX) and I am in DESPERATE need to borrow someone's off their 06 WRX or 07 STI (if applicable) just for the day I take my car to state ref! I only need the motor (black piece that looks like a blower) that sits next to the TMIC. I can throw a despot down for my time using it which is no longer than 1-2 days and I will return immedietely. I really want to get this state ref crap done with so I can get back on the road already! PLEASE PM ME IF YOU HAVE ONE TO LEND ME OR TXT ME 408 966 0837! Thanks guys!

Yea I'm selling the turboXS And running OEM till the day I sell her. I am just desperate for someone's air pump motor to borrow for a day for state ref smog.

He's just doing his job according to the laws written by the state of Ca.
Would you feel better if he didnt flag him for the BOV and Reffed him for the even MORE illegal catless DP?

 

What difference does it make? It all has to go back to stock for the reff.

 

Ive heard they find no cats on your car they can impound it on the spot. Can anyone confirm or deny this to be true?

 

If they pull you over with no cats they usually would give you a big emissions ticket or even reff you. Impound I am not sure but knowing those damn cops I wouldn't be surprised if they were dicks. But sometimes you can be lucky and they'll say it's whatever. When they popped my hood surprisingly they didn't even look at my polished tsudo catless downpipe..they were staring at my damn BOV the whole time. Only saw that I had an aftermarket tip (invidia) and got me for that but that says 'correctable'

 

I'm pretty up to date on the laws and all that stuff. I just have heard some horror stories about trucks who blatantly have straight no exhaust at all. They get pulled over and impounded with no chance to correct anything before reff. I think this may be old school and they took some of that power away from the HP. But yea that sucks. Cops don't know much about cars. Only the flashy stuff like bov and too large exhaust tips. I doubt they would waist there time bending over to see if you have a cat or not. If its on a lifted truck that may be a different story. Ill keep my eyes open for a air pump. I'm 05 here so I don't have that watered down smog b/s or I'd let you borrow mine

Thanks guys! I managed to buy one off a guy from east coast off nasioc. Of course with no smog there he's running a twin scroll ball bearing turbo and deleted his air pump. Should be doing the swap real soon. I heard it's the biggest pain in the *** 😔 I just want this state ref crap to be over with 😒 I want my Subie to rumble again!
