Issues between Capitol/Stevens Creek Subaru
Carlsen Subaru, not Carlson. You can also bring your car for the regular scheduled maintenance to an independant garage. I used TPS in Campbell to replace the clutch of my previous Nissan 350z, they worked well, with an affordable price all included.
I am going to go up to Stevens Creek Subaru on Monday and request that they give me a refund for my $110 because the service was covered under warranty. I guess if they don't do that, I will just contact SOA.
As for Capitol, I guess my best bet is to ask them to either pay for the floor mats and keys, or I will also contact SOA.
Seems like I will be taking my car to Carlson Subaru from now on...

Carlsen has a deal with Enterprise for rentals and they split the fee with you.
If you really want to drop an A-bomb on this issue, you could contact the Action Line reporter at the SJ Merc news (or some other consumer protection type local news person). That would get it some 'public' publicity and would likely resolve it all without waiting for SOA.
Sorry I disagree. You have a problem on your car and a full warranty, you are bringing it to the dealership to fix it, it should not cost you a penny.

ive had my incident with capitol and ive given up since nothing was going to happen. it sucks that i had to pay outta my pocket for problems but whatever.
and yes, i highly suggest going to one of the many bay area vendors for your regular check up and tune ups... cost way less and superior service.

If higher ups at the dealerships won't help, go higher to SoA. When I called they were extremely helpful, and in the end found out some dealers were being shady, and now avoid them.

i dont think fixing a loose connection falls under warranty repair... you bought a used car and you gota expecet that the car could have been modified and since nothing was really fixed or repaired, it cant really fall under warranty because nothing was replaced or fixed. To me it seems like capitol should be blamed. You bought a used car that didnt operate properly/ wasnt inspected properly just like the other thread on i-club where the guy bought a used sti and there was no bumper beam... as far as i see its a used car cant expect to have a new car at a used car price... but i hear you paid close to 36,000 for a used 08sti... so you kinda got ripped by capitol
Warranty coverage covers... the vehicle is in normal working condition? An unplugged connection is a "fix" in my book. So everything should be covered besides the rental.
I agree that Capital knows something is wrong and would not like to get caught.
I'd definitely suggest AutoHQ for regular maintenance (as well there are many others shops in the area that do great quality work, less price) but again, you have a warranty... so the price = $0.
Once the warranty is over, or even before it's over, drop by AutoHQ and let Kevin poke around your car (might cost some money) but he'll thoroughly check your car and make sure everything is in properly functioning order. Might as well get someone who WANTS your business, rather than attempt to STEAL from you.
If it's under warranty, try Carlsen and get it all done the right way, keep pushin' and pestering until everything is fixed. If it isn't fixed, keep going back. Stealerships need to understand the bad word gets out all the time...

Small town subie dealers FTW. I was always taken care of extremely well by the small dealerships, even though I never bought anything from them. 
That does sound really shady though. Before you sign anything you should definitely check with SOA. Better make sure everyone knows what's going on so you can make a smart and informed decision on what to do next. GL.

on what dealer capitol or stevens creek subar? stevens creek hasnt had a hate thread in a while but i dont think this thread is really about stevens creek subaru but more of capitol trying to have him sign a paper saying he wont take his car to any other place for any work what so ever

I'd suggest reading the fine print on the "extended warranty" they sold you. Unless it is a Subaru of America warranty (there are all sorts of aftermarket "warranty" programs sold out there by shady dealers), then you might be stuck with using their stealership if you expect the "warranty" to be honored.
If I were you, I'd be contacting SOA (1-800-SUBARU3) and raising hell about being charged for a warranty repair by Stevens Creek Subaru. If that doesn't work, then I'd be looking for the email address for Larry Kelso, District Fixed Operations Manager for the Region, and sending him a little note explaining what's going on.
