I switched to farmers insurance, because my brother works for them, and he got me a good quote. He also sat down and explained to me exactly what I am covered for. I pay 142 dollars a month.

I've been with California Casualty, AAA, Farmers and Nationwide.
I never had issues with any of them and I will add that California Casualty is a really good company. I use to work for them. It's more of a family oriented treatment that they apply to their customers and their training is top notch from the mail room to the upper levels of employees.
You might also try Costco (Ameriprise, I think) for coverage. They seem to have lower rates for starter policies when I asked for a quote. I use to put rates together for 3 companies and the Costco rates seem very reasonable especially if you have a renter or home policy. AAA has a good claims process, but their starter rates are high. Even with an 8% discount as an employee I didn't want to buy it.
I'm with Farmers for about 10 years, but that's only because my wife doesn't want to move it anywhere else.

Give Tyler a call at Williams Insurance. They are a broker and have really treated me and a few friends really well. I was with Safeco before, but he found me a better rate through Allied on my renewal and let me know.

Good people though, and I have never had anything weird with them at all. I have previously been a State Farm, Allstate, Gieco and Progressive customer. From that experience, Progressive sucks the least and there is a REASON State Farm is known as "Snake Farm." Those fockers.
