McDonalds may not use mayo, but they'd have to actually use real beef for whatever they're making to qualify as a burger, right? Last I checked, only 20% of their "beef" (and I use the term loosely) is the 80% lean/20% fat ground beef. If you go into a supermarket, take a look at the selection of ground beef. You'll be hard-pressed to find a lower grade of ground beef that 80/20. In fact, I bet most of it is 90/10, or maybe 93/7. So, presumably, 80/20 is the lowest grade (or at least the highest fat content in ground beef) available to ordinary consumers, like you and me. Now, McDonalds' meat only contains 20% of this stuff (and according to the television program I saw this on, it was because McDonalds wanted to ensure their meat was low in fat), meaning only 1/5 of their meat is made with the lowest ground crap that we can even buy. Doesn't this leave you wondering what the hell the other 80% of their meat is? 100% beef is all well and good, but even a cow's anus is "beef."

Jeffrey's is good, but their buns are not the best. Burgers, fries and condiments are tip-top tho. There's also one in Menlo Park.

Rvenosa, I checked out the website. It was cool. Lots of good recipes. I saw the rustic roasted chicken one, and although I'm sure it tastes great, the British guy's voice got irritating after about 15 seconds. Otherwise cool though.

haha i mash the meat and make it sizzle too.
But i put mayo on both sides, why does this Alton guy say to only put it on the bottom half? thats just lazy and HE deserves to eat McD's more for that move.

I dont care what they use, 2 Dbl Cheesburgers fill me up for $2 and dont make me run to the bathroom afterwards...McD's is fine with me. Jack is better though.

The fact that we are eating a dead animal is the grossest part, i dont really care, so i'll eat anything from that animal, like native americans who use every piece of their kill haha.

Burger King is great too. I actually like them as much as INO.

hahaha I only eat mcdonalds if its all there is on a trip down i-5 to LA lol.
I don't sizzle my burger because i bbq burger, never pan fry them. I might be dumb for it but I cook my burgers rare. mmm

But i prep my burger a bit different.. i roll the ground beef into **** loads of cayenne pepper, lousiana hot sauce, pepper, and grilled onions then throw it on the bbq. I couldn't ask for anything tastier.

i feel the same way, people who get grossed out by the different parts are whack.
Only part i wouldn't eat on a cow is the vuh-jay-jay. that'd just be weird.

Mcdoanlds is fugazi fowl. Yuck.

In and Out and the fast foods joints are not on the same page. In and out has their own ranches that are legit beef, and the vegetables are awesome as well.

Mcdonalds is chemically engineered poop same w the rest of it

Yeah, i remember when JITB and BK had the same fries, like 5 years ago, then JITB changed to their "natural cut fries"

Now BK has the best fries. JITB fries are tasteless and their curly fries are the same kind you can buy in the freezer section.

INO fries are OK. INO definatley wins on the health factor as far as french fries go. Yeah probably beef too.

JITB has 1/2 price smoothies from 2-4PM but i havent tried them yet.

Lol. Yeah, some irritating hosts. I just like the way everything is categorized, depending if you want to watch vids on cooking techniques, different regions, etc. All the thumbnails are a nice little feast for the eyes. Too bad Alton doesn't have something like that.

Though, his stuff at FoodNetwork.com is a wonderful resource, as you already know. Keep up the good cookin'!

If I recall, they only need 20% beef, the rest can be mealworm/soy etc to be able to call it a beef hamburger.
