I suggest you take the edmunds price with the options you want, look up the dealer incentives, e-mail dealers within 3 hours drive and ask them how much over the edmunds price+ incentives they will sell you the car for if you pick it up this week. Go to the dealership of your choice, show them the numbers (which they likely already know) and tell them you'll buy the car today if they can come close (whatever you want that to be) to the lowest price. This works well at the end of a slow month. There are lots of little games you can play (i.e use the VIN to see how old the car is, be interested in car one month old or alternatively, maybe you might take the car thats 10 months old (the one you really want). There is likely some pressure to move the older car and you may get some free stuff or a little more discount. You can play this games forever, but it's probably not worth your time unless you really like to shop.

ok so i went back to stevens creek...and my friend and i talked to Azin...we just said it to his face..25K out the door... for the 2004 stock wrx wagon...and he said ok he can do it....but this is without options and my parents think its a little too much considering edmund says that people that buy this car with the option i want pays only 23K...so my parents want it lower...i guess we have to wait it out?

Mot.....That's $23k base price. Not out the door. At $25k out the door that's about what you're paying base. At this point you may be able to get less but I paid $25,771 out the door for mine last august. That was with the center consol, security, net, short shifter. So without that I paid about $25k out the door.
You have to take into consideration the tax and registration fees.
$25k is a good deal. Now go to Subaru of Santa Cruz or Carlsen and pay that price. If you get much less it's gonna be minimal and if you have to go to stevens creek to get that minimal drop it's not worth it. I could have paid a couple hundred less at stevens creek but that place sucks man.
